The main problem affecting my ability to work effectively in Math and Science is a lack of balance between focused and diffused modes.

Learning Math or Science is an art that combines focused and diffused thinking modes. Too much focus can leave you stuck on problems, while too much time in diffused mode can lead to procrastination.

How do we tackle it?

  • Find a comfortable spot. Choose your ideal comfortable room. Depending on your preference, it could be a café, workspace, or living room. However, avoid using your bedroom since experts warn that, working in bedroom may lead to negative impact.

  • Use Pomodoro technique, time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The easiest way to use it is to get a Pomodoro app. But here's how it works:

    • Set a timer 30 minutes.
    • Work on the task without distractions.
    • Take a short break 10 minutes.
    • Repeat steps 1–3 three more times.
    • Take a long break.
  • Accept the confusion. New problems will always be different from previous ones. While we can use past problems as reference points to help solve new ones, we can't apply old solutions.
